With the right amount of weight, thickness, and width, the Opal can easily paddle into waves and ride with stability, but is easier to turn from your legs and less bulky to manage in the bigger waves. At 7'4'', the Opal is a great board for the smaller sized beginning/intermediate surfer and a blast for the advanced surfer who wants to do bigger moves on a smaller board.
